better schedule a siesta after you mow down here! i was full and kept eating!
the smells emanating from the kitchen took me back to the mountains of north georgia and reminded me that football season is almost upon us! if i were to have a big game day party, this would be my selection for a take out!
those corn fritters are completely addicting. it was like eating fried cream corn. i’m not sure i know anyone that wouldn’t like that taste sensation.
i had the BBQ sliced beef salad. my first time mixing sauce and salad dressing with huge pieces of meat…… that was spot on! of course i had the mouth watering hush puppies (i needed a starch right?), and i was obliged to sample the potato salad (i needed another starch), which had a different, and pleasant kick than the run- of- the- mill i customarily crave.
great service always!! consider our pin pulled!!
today we’ve worked up our appetite walking on the beach and are on our way to charlie and jakes bbq that’s sure to satisfy. walking in the smells from the kitchen put you in a southern state of mind. we’re greeted by maggie and grab a booth for today’s yum experience.
we start with the corn nuggets that are filled with creamy corn and lightly topped with powdered sugar. i order the pulled pork sandwhich on garlic toast that’s served with 2 sides. double creamy coleslaw is my choice because i could never have enough of this delicious cabbage and carrot melody.
today i’m also ordering the the thursday special, fried chicken. it lived up to it’s recommendation around town with a golden crust with a little kick. baked beans, steak fries and hushpuppies were my choices to complete this true southern meal. maggie let’s you know it’ll take a little longer because it’s made to order. only 15 to 20 minutes and it’s well worth it!
don’t forget to get a punch card when your there. 10 punches and you get a free meal!
