i’d like to order up some vibe with my lobster please! you know you are going to get it when you are pulling into jazzy’s in cocoa beach!
it is what i, personally, look for in a food get away. it is it’s own little world. first impression is a great deck with all kinds of craziness from broken tennis rackets, to lobster claws artfully sticking out of the service window, to lobsters painted on the floor, to the graffiti wall. vanessa had no trouble getting us “write” onto that. the inside, just as artful with giant signs, eclectic art work, interesting tables and squirming lobsters waiting for your stomach to sign the adoption papers!
the enthusiastic service did not suck either. it feels like that people that work there, like it there.
while vanessa and robb rocked the lobster rolls (i ordered one to go, so no tears please), i so jumped on the fried scallop roll! too much butter can “almost” ruin a roll. not the case here. the flavor of the scallops were not staged up by the roll. freshness, big time freshness! the tartar sauce did not overpower either and was really smooth without too much relishy particles inside, almost just a flavorful mayo, in a good way. macaroni salad, light and not too heavy, again with the smooth. the hushpuppies oooooooo just a bit bigger than a large marble, not too greasy and divine topped off with a splash of malt vinegar. what i really appreciate are reasonable portions. the mac salad was in a small cup, the roll filling but you can actually finish it. when i’m eating fresh seafood, i want to finish it all right there.
as goldilocks would say “not too big, not too small, just right!” it pulled our grenade and lobster claws were flying everywhere!
the awesome threesome, robb, lucy and myself, headed up to Jazzy’s Mainely Lobster and Seafood in cocoa beach today for a delight we’ve yet to have tried here at red truck eats…lobster rolls! yes we’ve eaten them before but not like this!
Jessica greeted us immediately on the patio and quickly got us inside to take our order of what we had no idea would be one of our favorite stops yet. between Jessica and the feel of this place we knew it was going to be a “jazzy” good time!
i ordered the lobster roll…of course. piled high with big chunks of lobster meat nestled in a fried bun should say it all but it just doesn’t. this lobster was so fresh and juicy and every bite had a little crunch from the bun that i can’t help but think of next next time i can get up here for another. creamy coleslaw and french fries go perfectly with my roll. the coleslaw was superior to most, not too mayonaisee and the crispy fries that i doused in malt vinegar had to have a little mayo for dippin just because i’m not leaving any flavor explosion out today.
another bonus of this stop was we were able to tag, legally, the wall outside on the patio before we left. Jessica let us know that they were about to redo the outside area but all the “art” would be photographed and kept for Jazzy’s guests future visits…and us.
we’ll be back ya’ll…delicious!!!
