oh how i wish i had been in a breakfast frame of mind, or, a decisive frame of mind. but, how could one be decisive with such a dynamic menu as this. just glance at the websight and read the choices for omelets, and crepes, and benedicts, and tell me if you could have done better. maybe it was less of a game show that i limited my choices to the scrumptious lunch items, otherwise i would’ve been there all day.
that is…. everything on their combinations, “who would’ve thunk”. the representation of florida, georgia, cajun, you name it, and you’ll leave something out. it’s an inspired menu.
the pea-crab fritters, with peach horseradish were a taste sensation as well! filling and fantastic! the sauce, as good as you can imagine.
i was beyond delighted with my choice of “cracked conch sandwhich”, which included; mango salsa, key lime aioli, topped with corn, beans, and strawberries on a poppy seed bun! wow. the strawberries (chopped up) were an addition that really enhanced this divine combination. who would’ve thunk.
the atmosphere is light, bright, beachy, with local art work. the ocean is right out the back door, where you can sit in kinder weather. it emanates a local vibe, and such a good family atmosphere.
seth, one of the owners, could not be more hospitable, and had no trouble jumping in the red truck for a photo. i also like, that the waiters take your orders with their gadgets. something seems highly efficient about this.
they have their own sauces for sale as well. lick’n my lips. torturing myself by re-reading the menu. if i ate something different each week, how long would it take me? and in the meantime, what new items would they come up with? SOB, you pulled our grenade pin!!
today we’re off to one of my favorites, sun on the beach. we got to meet seth, one of the native georgia owners. It’s nice to hear a southern accent. dee was our waitress and gave us plenty of time to drool over the menu. we started with the SOB balls that i must say were one of the tastiest things i’ve ever put in my mouth. not kidding! smoked gruyere and ricotta cheese rolled in crispy panko topped with a creamy sauce with fresh tomatoes. i can’t believe i’ve been coming here for 7 years and this was my first SOB balls!
i figured i’d stick with the theme and try the SOB dipper. juicy ribeye steak cooked with sweet red peppers and onions topped with smoked gruyere. the au jus was so good i wanted to drink every drop.
once again the outing was successful and it was nice to catch a glimse of the ocean on our way out!
