taste of thai

today we visited another one of my favorites, taste of thai. the space is filled with all sorts of  asian chochskee  that keeps your eyes moving. our server som, a petite soft spoken girl, made sure our experience was perfect.

we started with a spider roll. the roll had tempura softshell crab, asparagus, scallions, and roe. the crab tempura put a great crunch to the roll.  this could be a meal in itself!

i went with the pad thai off the lunch menu. this came with a pork and tofu soup that was in a divine salty broth and a crisp spring roll served with a sweet chili sauce for dipping. the pad thai had rice noodles with egg and green onions  stir fried in a sweet sauce topped with ground peanuts and bean sprouts that gave the dish great texture as well as flavor.

i’m leaving with a  pleasantly plump belly!

i am a fool for decor. ” taste of thai” is the way i would like my living room;  bright, cheery, fun, upbeat.  it’s memorable.

i began the indulgence with one of my favorite drinks in the world (besides bubble tea), thai tea.  if you like a sweet, spicy, creamy, pick me up, this is it!  it was like starting with ice cream, and such a wonderful compliment to any thai food.

i concur with vanessa about the the spider roll and would add, the egg roll and soup would be perfect all on their own, as a quick meal.  however, i was famished and went for the cashew tofu, not too sweet, not too spicy, just right!   lovely mix of crunchy veggies mixed in, for a fresh summery lunch.

satisfied….. more than.  wasn’t our first time, won’t be our last.
